Terms of use

The short version: our results describe past years from public data, the council makes every offer, and if a Shortlist isn’t useful, you can ask for your money back within 30 days.

Who we are

Offer Odds is a trading name of Lime Creations (“we”, “us”), Lime Creations Ltd, 71-75 Shelton Street, London, WC2H 9JQ. Contact us at help@offerodds.co.uk. By using this website you agree to these terms.

Our results are estimates, not promises

  • Our results show what would have happened to an application from your address in past years, based on figures the councils published. They are estimates. They are not a promise or guarantee that your child will, or won’t, be offered a place.
  • Councils and schools make every offer under their own published admission arrangements. Cut-offs change every year, and admission rules can change too.
  • Always read the council’s admissions guidance and each school’s admission arrangements before you apply. Our summaries never replace them.

Where our figures come from

Our figures come from public council and school publications and Ofsted’s published inspection data. Every figure links to its source, and each publisher’s own terms apply to its documents. Ofsted, Get Information About Schools and Ordnance Survey open data are used under the Open Government Licence. If you publish information we use and want it removed, see data sources and takedown requests. We check figures carefully, but sources and our copies of them can contain mistakes. If you spot one, tell us and we’ll correct it.

You’re welcome to quote and link to our school pages. Please credit Offer Odds and link to the page you quote.

Buying a Shortlist

  • The Shortlist costs £29, paid once. There is no subscription and nothing else to buy. The price includes VAT if it applies. Payment is taken by Stripe.
  • Our school pages, borough pages, method and accuracy pages, and the list of schools near your postcode before you pay, are free. The Shortlist is the only thing we sell.
  • Your results are digital content you can open straight away. You keep your legal right to cancel for 14 days (see your right to cancel), and our 30-day money-back guarantee, below, gives you longer.
  • Your results are reached through a private link we email to you. Anyone with the link can see them, so keep it to yourself.

Your right to cancel

You have the right to cancel this purchase, without giving a reason, within 14 days of the day you paid.

To cancel, use the “Request a refund” link in your results or your receipt email, or tell us by email at [email protected] that you want to cancel. You can use the model cancellation form below, but you don’t have to. It is enough to send your message before the 14 days run out.

If you cancel, we refund everything you paid, to the card you paid with, within 14 days of hearing from you, at no cost to you. Your Shortlist link and PDF stop working when the refund is made.

After the 14 days, our 30-day money-back guarantee still lets you ask for a full refund, as our terms of use explain.

Our 30-day money-back guarantee

If your Shortlist isn’t useful, you can have your money back in full. Ask for a refund using the link in your results or your receipt, within 30 days of the date you paid: the guarantee runs until the end of the 30th day after the day you paid (UK time). You don’t need to give a reason. The limits below apply.

  • How to ask for a refund: use the “Request a refund” link on your results page or in your receipt email, enter the email address you paid with so we can find your order, and send your request. When your refund is approved, we refund the card you paid with and email you a confirmation. The money usually takes 5 to 10 working days to show on your statement.
  • What happens to your Shortlist: once your refund is approved, your results link and PDF stop working and we delete your home location and your answers. If you still want to use your results, please don’t ask for a refund.
  • Limits: you need to give the email address the Shortlist was bought with. After the first 14 days, we may decline a second refund for the same person or card, which we check by email address and by card. After the 30 days, a refund is at our discretion. Where a request needs a closer look, a person reviews it and we reply by email within 2 working days. You can also write to us at help@offerodds.co.uk.
  • Your legal rights: the guarantee doesn’t affect them. If your results are faulty or not as described, you have rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 whenever you bought them: email us.

Using the website

  • Don’t misuse the service: no attempts to break its security, overload it, or send automated requests to its address search or checks.
  • Only check addresses you have a genuine reason to check, such as your own home or one you’re thinking of moving to.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Offer Odds with reasonable care and skill. We aren’t responsible for decisions made by councils or schools, or for losses that weren’t foreseeable. If we are responsible for a loss, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Your data

Our privacy notice explains what we collect, why, and for how long.

Changes and law

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms that applied when you bought something keep applying to that purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring claims in the courts of the part of the UK where you live.
